Fear-piercing
Riding the success of his debut album for Tempa, Skream is back from his Australian adventure intact, ish. If someone finds his passport can they please stick it in the post to: Skream, Dubplate Badman from Day, Croydon, CR007 DU8. Only joking. Keeping up the '07 pressure will be the Skreamizm 3 doublepack. Expect some heavy freshness.

Impact engineering
Out now on Tempa is one of '06's weightiest wobblers, Coki from Digital Mystikz' "Tortured/Shattered." If you've been near a Digital Mystikz set this year your insides will have a "Tortured" twist to them. Ouch.

Solid foundations
A year in the making but worth the wait, Ammunition and Blackdown present "The Roots of Dubstep" is out now. This the first and only compilation to chronicle the birth of the dubstep sound from 2000-2004. Limited edition copies come in gatefold CD with a pull out poster containing extensive sleeve notes and a Roots of Dubstep roadmap of how the sound was formed. The Roots of Dubstep will return in 2007 in a new form to chronicle where it all started. And where did it all start..?

Double D1
The cinematic mood master D1 returns to Tempa in '07 with a doublepack of some of his finest beats, as heard in Youngsta sets, battered on Skream's Rinse show and from D1's own playouts at FWD>>. Tracklisting - Trial Run, Greazy, Foundation, Malfunction, Mind & Soul and Quantum Jazz

Gala Benga
Not many artists' work rate make Skream look lazy, but Benga, by anyone's standards, has had a busy year. All his hard work has been rewarded with a slew of dancefloor playouts and releases. Look out for "Crunked Up/Electro Music/Roller" on Tempa in 2007.

Mindfinda
If any proof were needed that the dubstep virus has spread, a health check in Bristol will show you some serious infection. Headhunter arrives from the west sides with some new dark oingy boingy, some Hatcha-style conga therapy. His debut 12" will drop on Tempa in 2007. Tracklisting - Future Bound, Descent and Entity

Loe End Frequencies
Out now Loefah's much sought after remixes of Skream's 'I' and 'Monsoon'. Two dubplate classics from different eras of Loefah DMZ's artistic development, 'Monsoon remix' is a sinodub masterpiece and, with a two minute intro, an exercise in restraint and release. 'I remix' is new school Loe, a bassy soundsystem assault wave captured on Transition-cut vinyl.

One Step Backwards
As dubstep enters a new phase of popularity and reach, 'Ammunition and Blackdown present 'The Roots of Dubstep' is the first project to return to the nascent dubstep scene circa 2000-04 to document its birth. From El-B to Horsepower, Artwork to Skream, these are classics seeped in the memories of FWD» at the Velvet Rooms, Ghost live at the Big Apple Christmas party or Hatcha behind the counter at Croydon's now defunct vinyl emporium. The compilation is an unmixed CD and doublepack vinyl featuring out of press classics Artwork's 'Red' High Planes Drifter (Benny Ill + Horsepower) v Goldspot 'Sholay' plus still unreleased anthems El-B ft Juiceman 'Buck & Bury (Original mix)' and Benga 'Star Wars' (THE Hatcha VIP). The compilation drops mid summer 2006.

I Skream for Two?
No man can keep Skream down right now as he unleashes a slew of new dubs for the dancefloor. The latest instalment in the Skreamizm series sees Blipstream, Welcome 2 The Future, 0800 Dub, Deep Concentration, Morning Blues and Dub Period. Skream is currently working on his much anticipated debut album due for release later this year. For sneak previews check him on Rinse FM's 'Stella Sessions' launched recently with the immortal line: 'welcome planet Earth to the Skream show'.

Allstar Blast
Dubstep Allstars 3 mixed by Kode 9 and featuring the vocals of The Spaceape is out now. It features 28 tracks swiftly and deftly mixed on dubplate by the elusive Mr 9, ensuring the listener experiences both the cutting edge of the expanding dubstep bubble and the magical revelation when two mixed dubs become more than the sum of their parts. Dubstep Allstars 4 also is inbound, mixed by Hatcha and Youngsta. Expect a double CD of fresh, exclusive and unreleased material. The vinyl series sister-release to Dubstep Allstars is Tempa Allstars, now on its third volume with new dubs from Caspa, N Type and more.

Exclusive to I
Two of the scene's youngest and hottest producers, Skream and D1, remain signed exclusively to Ammunition - the team behind the labels Tempa, Soulja, Bingo, dubplate.net and club night Forward». This strong link between the scene's founding organization and the freshest new talent will allow D1 and Skream to develop their already considerable and expansive sounds.

Skream Team
Following from the release on Tempa of Skream's anthem "Midnight Request Line," look out for the Skreamizm series. This will be a sequence of doublepacks showcasing the depth and breadth of Skream's current production work. The first will drop in the beginning of 2006 and will feature "Glamma," "Smiley Face," "Rottan," "Lightning Dub" and "Hag." Following a recent online mix, these tunes are much in demand, with "Rottan" a catchy anthem, "Smiley Face" a dubwise vocal gem and "Lightning Dub" an explosive Amen rinse out.

1D Vision
Before that, D1 will have a new 3 tracker out in December featuring "Degrees," "Identify" and "Molecules." These will be well known to close followers of DJ Youngsta sets, showcasing D1's twisted, dystopian textures.

CD Pressure
Volume 2 of Dubstep Allstars - the flagship dubstep CD series - OUT NOW. Mixed by Forward»'s DJ Youngsta, it features back to back unreleased dubplate gems and dubstep anthems.

Into 2006 and beyond...
The third installment in the Dubstep Allstars mix CD will be out this year mixed by Kode 9. Club Fwd>> remains the first and third Thursday of each month, Curtain Road, Shoreditch, east London. Catch the finest in dubstep and grime DJs down there. Ammunition would like to big up all the dubstep supporters worldwide, all first aiders and escapaders, each and every.

Forward» came correct again last night.
As is to be expexted now it was heavy with beats, bass and smoke.
Tempa's own Kode 9 got things started with a heavy rollers set. Followed by the man Landslide, who always manages to drop some mad sideways beats which flip out the head nodders.
Which just left it to Plastic Man to kill it all at the end. And his beats bag was fresher than ever. Serioulsly dark, graveyard dub, juggernaut rolling, B lines and beats.
Bad B A D start to the year for Forward». And very busy, get there early next time or queue with the rest of them.
